Here's an image report on the June 7th rotating thunderstorm and funnel cloud which Declan and I watched from the Glenshane Road outside Maghera. The funnel was rotating for 5 min's over fields near the Knockloughrim road, it was quite a sight with dark rotating storm clouds above and c-gs/thunder happening at the same time while hail stones hit our heads. The better quality images and vid are on the report, you can also see a link to Declan's report on there too...

We did a site investigation, knocking on doors and getting more witnesses and confirmed it didn't touch down however it was very close to doing so. A great action packed day and my favourite of the 2011 season so far.

Excellent shots,Martin. Thanks for the text on the photo too, gives the full picture. It must have been very frustrating for you that it didn't touch down when it was so close , it's a very good structure and you did your best to try and establish if it did reach the ground anywhere by door knocking - well done, very good all round job between you .

Great images backed with a fine detailed report Martin. The images captured really do give you an indication of the developing funnel I wish I had been their to see it myself.
