These layer clouds looked very weird with cool structure enhanced by a lowering Sun. Taken on Sept 14th from the Lough Neagh shore looking W.

Interesting - it looks as though there was medium level lenticularis being illuminated by the Sun with bits of thin stratocumulus drifting below in the shadow - would that be right?

That's exactly what I was thinking at the time Brian, some kind of lenti species with lacunosus holes. They were weird, don't think they would have looked impressive though if the Sun was higher.
