I thought it might be a decent sunset because of the types of cloud ,it wasn't too bad. Posted  in sequence.

I think you made the right choice in sticking around for that one John, such beautiful colors. I'm always gauging the afternoon clouds and wondering what kind of an evening it will be for photography. If it looks really good I jump in the car for a short drive because of the interference I have from my trees. Great photos.

Cracking shots John! Smiley  I went for a walk up the Malverns on saturday, however it was quite hazy (and cold!) and the few pics I did take didn't really look too clever on the point and click.  Want to get up there on a good day for some snaps at some point...

It's hit and miss with a sunset isn't it. I have to have something decent before I'll post rather than just a pleasant glow in a clear sky.A couple of weeks ago I made the mistake of leaving too early and missed out on a superb after glow which comes in the  30 minutes or so after the sun has dropped below the horizon, some of the best colours show then,it's a matter of judging  whether the usual bank of cloud in the west is too heavy to allow an attractive display.

The Malverns are a great location,Mark. We used to take our retriever up there and he'd run ahead of us on a 'meet and greet'  mission with other walkers and those taking a rest on benches, needless to say ,with 99.9% of people he was warmly greeted himself and once they'd done that he was off to  meet the next people along the pathway lol.

Thanks, both. We've had a few blue-sky days lately Paul, very welcome too.  I think  this cloud is cirrostratus.,always makes for a decent display - it was white pre-sunset so that's why I thought it was worth the trip.

No camera  with you then, Anton ? Pity.
