Venus is still quite small (11 arc sec) but I managed to get some cloud details using the Astrodon UVenus ultra-violet pass filter with my William Optics FLT 110 scope & 4x Imagemate.

Seeing was too bad to get a good image in the ultra violet when the sun was still high in the sky. The best seeing seemed to be around 1830 UT, after which low altitude started to make it worse again.

Great shots Brian, you can definitely see the cloud detail in the UV image!

Thanks.

Actually I was using the wee scope because I thought it would be better for a last go at Mercury in full sunlight - the tube is white & the objective is better shielded than my SCT. Didn't find Mercury, it really gets faint once it's moving in towards inferior conjunction. Still got some useful information about better ways to go about getting Venus with the SCT ... next time it's reasonably clear she'd better be dressed decently! Wink
