Has anybody caught Venus low in the west yet after sunset? I looked when I was in Iceland, but despite a clear view over the Atlantic ocean I didn't manage to see her in conjunction with Jupiter - I figured maybe I was too far north? My local boozer has a perfect western horizon, pub is on top of a hill and ground broadly slopes away to the west for many miles. Anyway, whilst enjoying a pint after work yesterday and looking out over the sunset I was really pleased to see venus hanging low just above the horizon. The local rag should start filling up with 'UFO' reports in the weeks ahead

Congratulations on seeing Venus - something that I've yet to do during this evening apparition. Looking forward to the forthcoming conjunction at the end of March when Mercury joins Venus in the evening sky. Remember that if you consume enough at your local 'hostelry', Venus becomes a very easy naked eye double!!

Congratulations on seeing Venus - something that I've yet to do during this evening apparition. Me too. Cloud has a lot to do with it, there have been very few clear early evenings (or late mornings for that matter). Post reminds me to order the UV pass filter I want for imaging Venus.

After many days of rain I finally had a chance to get a glimpse of Venus above a Seattle to San Francisco Jet contrail. It's sure good to see her in the evening sky again!

Congratulations Richard!, and to anyone else who has seen it visually. I will be on the look out this evening, as well as watching the full Moon rise.

Nice images Jonathan, I like the one with the plane.
Got my first look at Venus on the same evening, looking forward to it climbing higher and approaching Mercury, they both should be within the Zodicial Light cone in the near future.

Looks like a great evening for spotting Venus, and the ZL light if anyone is going to have a go for it.

Looks like a great evening for spotting Venus Ummm. Cleared a bit late for Venus last night, and there seems to be cloud massing from the North right now.

Seen it this evening from Glenshane, beautiful sight low on the horizon between the mountains as a golden ball among the red sky glow. After that, mist had arrived...

A great sight this evening and took a few images through the bedroom window, not a good location but you take what you can. Must get the windows cleaned too they're filthy
