Two from tonight

The sky is fabulous here tonight, but we also seem to have gale force winds, so I got the mount set up and very approximately aligned and set the camera up with a wide angle lens and took 8 shots stacked up in DSS....



8 x 30sec Sony A700 16mm f3.5 ISO 800 on LXD 75 mount

I also had a go at M31 with a 135mm lens - this is cropped from the full frame...

Those are very nice Paul. Really like the big wide angle shot of the MW!!

I know what you mean about those winds, the telescope was blown out of my grib several times tonight.

Those are two fantastic images Paul. The first one of the Milky Way really shows a lot of detail including the Coathanger. The secod one of M31 blows me away with the detail in the dust lanes of the galaxy. Those are two fine lenses and a great sky you had for imaging also. Thanks!

Very nice Paul. It was nice and clear here too, if somewhat blowy. My garden is quite well sheltered and a pair of small fracs don't have a large wind profile..

 Amazing shots . I now realise it's the long exposure time that shows up so many stars -0 . We've got a high for 3/4 days so it should give a lot of opportunity - and no wind, Paul.
