Got this image this morning at 01:15BST of Jupiter and also Neptune. This is the very first time I have succeeded in getting Neptune on an image. I also observed it with the 10x50 bins. If you have never seen this planet why not have a go for it, it's easy!

Great capture John! In some 20 odd years of astronomy I only saw Neptune for the first time this year, once I had it made me wonder quite why i'd taken so long to take a look at it - easy to spot when you know where to look!

A beautiful shot with the clouds John! I never have looked at Neptune, I'll have to put it on my list.

That's a great shot John! I got a similar one myself last year when Neptune was close to Venus, and about 4 years ago I got first glimpse and photo of Uranus as it passed near the Moon. For some reason, even with star maps and knowing my way around the sky pretty well, the proximity of something very obvious helps a lot!

Splendid shot John. The clouds add a little 'something' to the image too.
