Well, it's possible then - I did note something similar in the NNW at around that time, basically one faint band parallel to the horizon, but it lacked the characteristic "electric blue" colouration - if pushed, I'd have called it yellowish - and, as there was some haze around, I took it for a haze layer being illuminated by the setting Moon.
