Thanks for the well wishes guys. Carl and Dave did all the talking, and got their mugs on the TV. I just want to say what a great host Patrick was, his hospitality was fantastic. The Sky at Night team were great. I never laughed as much, when Carl was giving Damian, Pete and Burce (aka Ben), a hard time about been second class astro-photographers. It really was a once in a life time opportunity to meet Patrick let alone stay in his house.  Thanks Carl and Dave for putting up with me for the weekend.

Great shots Andy, keep up the good work. I hope a new pair of underpants did not cost so much, after that scare.

7  General Category / Astronomy & Space / The Pelican Neula 'IC 5070' on: September 28, 2008, 08:44:42 pm
Hi Guys

Finally got out with some clear skies on Friday night, it was a little misty but, I had to make the most of it. I tried to get the colour for the H-alpha image of the Pelican. The OIII filter was very weak, I don't know if the light mist had anything to do with it.

Anyway here is the details.

The Pelican Nebula in Narrowband. 6th & 26th September 2008. Total of 6.5 hours data taken through a Williams ZS 80EDII, with a .8 focal reducer, H-Alpha, S2 & O3 Astronomik Filters, piggybacked on a CGE 11. Self guided with the SBIG ST8-XME.Processing, Images Plus, Maxim, CS3.

Hi Lads,

Just got out for the first time, the clouds only parted at around 12am, but I got as much as I could for H-alpha. IC 5070 is very much a work in progress, and I hope to have the finished narrowband image a.s.a.p. weather permitting.

The Pelican Nebula in H-alpha. 6th September 2008. Total of 2.5 hours (15x 10min) of data taken through a Williams ZS 80EDII, with a .8 focal reducer piggybacked on a CGE 11. Self guided with the SBIG ST8-XME. Processing, Images Plus, Maxim, CS2.

I smell WAR Grennan Grin Grin

Carl,
I thought you liked Barbie. Well if you let your wife pack your case when going on a lads holiday is one thing, but when she packs and makes you put on the Homer Simpson Pyjamas, is a step too far. I'll  bet you also have a Barbie Doll sitting on your pillow Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Hi Guy's

Congratulations on the new forums. Looking forward to posting some images if this weather ever clears up.

All the best Lads well done.
