Title: Bee-Hav
Post by: martinastro on August 02, 2011, 11:55:24 am
A few fun macro shots with the 18-55mm lens of a Queen Bee which I captured from Roisin's home last week, the white background is the window sill with bright sunlight shining on it through the conservatory glass.

Great shots Martin, I really like the first one that shows the structure and colors in the wing, very up close for a 18-55mm.

Thanks very much Richard, the Canon kit lens has a very bad macro system I have to admit so for these I stepped back a little and zoomed in, then cropped the final result. The Bee then made it back outside to safety so it was a happy ending.

Very effective photos Martin,  the white background really works with these images :)

That’s pretty impressive for this lens, I have tried a few macro shots with my 18 – 55 kit lens but never mange to capture that much detail.
