Title: A view to the heavens Post by: paulster78 on April 10, 2011, 10:05:56 pm I took advantage of a clear night on the 7th to try another star trail. I have been doing some research on locations with the help of google maps which is brilliant using streetview. I found this church which is located just a few miles from home and in a dark location-perfect. I composed the shot with polaris close the spire and i wanted to see a few angles of the building as well. It was good to have a fellow photographer and mate from the camera club for company as i didnt fancy the thought of standing in a graveyard for hours in complete darkness on my own. We used a bright torch to light up the church in a few frames.
Also tried a shorter star trail with a tree within the grounds and a shot of the moon with Pleiades and Orion (http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt215/paulster78/Astronomy%20Related/Cappaghchurch1for.jpg) (http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt215/paulster78/Astronomy%20Related/Cappaghtreetrailfor.jpg) (http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt215/paulster78/Astronomy%20Related/Cappaghtreefor.jpg) Title: Re: A view to the heavens Post by: markt on April 11, 2011, 08:49:41 pm Oh wow! Excellent images :)

Anxiety in graveyards must be buried in our psyche- Star trails - a church and a ghost ;D A winning photo any day - or should that be night ;D Title: Re: A view to the heavens Post by: Anton on April 13, 2011, 12:00:18 am Suburb images and a great location, I bet it was very quite there lol. ;D
