Taken during the early morning hours of Halloween showing Downhill Temple on the N coast. Conor and I where visiting the area yet again for more test shots, the stars and Milky Way were amazing, the view of Ursa Major from the beach was outstanding, sky was pitch black in that direction, perfect for aurora photography, all we need is a CME to hit now! 18mm ISO1600 55 sec's.

Fantastic shot Martin!  With a location and sky conditions like that I can see ypu're going to get some fantastic aurora pics.  LOTS of opportunity!  :)

Such a beautiful setting and foreground for so many different photo opportunities. I take it the ruins are being illuminated by moonlight. Great backdrop!

Cheers everyone!, Richard, yes the ruins are illuminated by weak moonlight and the distant lights from Portrush. Saw a mag -7 fireball too and bright Orionid activity. The Gegenschein was jumping out from the sky, great place to be.  :)

Nice image Martin sure looks dark up there!

Dave, Downhill House was destroyed by fire in 1851 refurbished and used to house troops during WW2, it fell into ruin after the war. Here's some more info........
