Title: A couple from yesterday (Oct 12th).
Post by: John9929 on October 13, 2009, 09:20:51 pm
Not done any weather imaging for quite a while now but couldn't resist a couple at teatime yesterday (Oct 12th). Firstly this nice unexpected sundog in the west, there was a second fainter one in the east at the same time.

Secondly this nice faint sunpiller which appeared just before sunset, the colours were amazing!

Thanks John, no, for some reason the yellowish sky just faded leaving just a few rosey puffs, then it was reasonably clear. Funny weather we'er having recently. The sundog was quite colorful as I got a look at it with the bins. Those images you got are beautiful!

Nice shots John, and great to see some weather images on the go again. I like that sundog among the alto cumulus - nice one. The sun pillar is a great catch, I haven't seen one of those in a long time, although there was a short one above the crescent Moon last night.

Great images John. As Martin stated, haven't seen too many sundogs or pillars of late, time to start looking again!
