Title: "Huge explosion" over Irish skies? Post by: Big Dipper on September 06, 2009, 12:38:34 pm Just been reading this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/8239188.stm) story on the BBC website. As I know that one or two of you here are in NI (OK, perhaps more than just one or two ;D ) I wondered if anyone had seen this event last Thursday or had heard anything further (plus I'm well overdue to start a new thread here, anyway)! ;D

I missed this fireball unfortunately so don't know much more about it. Hopefuly more sightings will come in. I wonder what the chances are of finding any meteorite from it, if it did produce one. Probably a small object, would be cool if they could find it though. Keeping an eye on the story... |
