Title: Daytime Moon and Lunar "X" Post by: Paul on April 02, 2009, 06:25:30 pm Got home just in time to catch the "X" at the end of its apparition, and also took a two-shot composite of the First Quarter Moon - I hope to be mosaicing later!

Anyhoo I was out this afternoon & imaged the Moon - with WO 110mm refractor, 820nm infra red filter & DMK41 webcam. Seeing was rotten but this is the result (two image mosaic, taken at f/7 prime focus) 1448 UT 02 Apr 2009 (http://www.bbhvig.uklinux.net/Moon-090402-1448-FLTx1.jpg) Title: Re: Daytime Moon and Lunar "X" Post by: Paul on April 02, 2009, 07:01:49 pm Quote I see no "X" ? About 40% of the way down the terminator. Compare with this APOD..... http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap090311.html Mine's towards the end of the apparition and starting to lose its shape.
