Anyone else getting these powerful and even frightening gales?. They have been ongoing since the early morning hours until the present. They are really bad in my area, in fact, worse than when the storm arrived two weeks ago! At 06.00 UT there was a most horrific blast of severe wind which I thought was going to strip the tiles from our roof. They are powerful enough to do damage and over turn lorries. Surprised there isn't more fuss made about this on the weather!.

Just a strong wind here (approx force 6), though there have been a couple of moderately fierce gusts (probably to severe gale force).

I think maybe you're catching a rotor coming down off your local hills.

Yes, very fierce winds today - I thought the steering was faulty on the way in to work this morning! Still pretty strong this evening too.

Intense rainfall too showing red on the radar. Would be interesting to check out the rivers in the morning for a good flood. Getting one hack of a battering here and it's not relenting either.
