A little too close for comfort perhaps?! The gap between the visual flash & arrival of the sound suggests a miss by several hundred metres... when the strike is really close you actually perceive the "bang" first (they arrive nearly simultaneously but there is less lag in audio processing in the brain) |

Great thundersnow!. I seen that on the BBC late last night. There was more today in Britain and one event in N. Ireland. Look at all the cells outside at the min dropping rain and snow! |

Look at all the cells outside at the min dropping rain and snow! Hmmm, had about 3 grains of soft hail so far. Even got a decent clear spell between 0130 & 0330 in the morning, and enough sunshine around lunchtime to observe the Sun... |
