It was so Foggy that I almost didn't go out but then if I want the photos I have to,anyway Martin said  in yesterday's post "more please " lol so  how could I let him down. With the third photo I was driving along and saw to my left that the 'sky' was down on the ground ! I went into the field and the inversion was very close and I was almost on the level of the top of it, what you can't see is the valley underneath it.

I thought I'd try the first one in monochrome too.

I do like monochrome but on this occasion the colour is more attractive to me - I think the blue/grey sky gives the image a little something - you could try reducing the saturation in the forground, though. Nos. 4 & 6 really good, though a careful bit of cropping might help both (cut 1/2 inch of the sky off #4 and 1/2 inch of the foreground off #6).

Excellent John!. The last three showing the fog in the valley are striking!, I also prefer the coloured images on this occasion. The image with the Sun, fog and house is very pleasing. I feel cold looking at it  Smiley...wonderful selection.

Here we are, re-edited. I've not done the full  edit like the first ones , no borders etc. but just what you've suggested, Brian. If the editing here wasn't quite enough please say ,I won't re-post but will take on board

No 1. Saturation reduced in foreground.

N0 4. Cropped sky.

No. 6. Crop foreground.

WOw! these are fantastic, I especailly like 4 and 5. 5 the best, since you can see the highway coming out of the fog. Ive always wanted to be above the fog/clouds, just havent had the chance yet. There is a cool hill about an hour north of town Ive heard of some people doing it up there, Ill have to try sometime. Youve inspired me! lol just an amazing scene

Well, there you go ,Brian..that was successful then. I think everyone should be praising your critique really, I just did the easy bit - the re-edit.  lol. - cheers.

Tyler. You'll have to figure when there's  going  to be an inversion  and I'm not best placed to give advice on that. If fog is forecast then there's a chance you will get an inversion but I've  been up on the hills and still been in fog but I don't come home and post that it didn't work out so you only see the successful trips  but you must have a go,it looks good  from up there . Try and get the sunrise light too ,light conditions change rapidly as the sun gets higher so hang around for a couple of hours -  take coffee  lol.

Great selection of shots, John  Smiley
I have never seen (with my own eyes) such dense fog below me as on your photo with the highway. It looks very nice
