Hi i have recently added a new lens to my nikon d80 it is a sigma 70-300 mm i took some pics today to try it out what do you think?

I love reading up on and talking about   lenses and here's a review on this one - it's rated very well and there are shots taken at various focal lengths and setting,you should find it interesting.

The images look great to me Johnathan. You can really draw in tight on the wildlife. And the distant sunset and moon shots you'll get will be incredible. I'm still trying to pull the trigger on buying the Canon 50-250 IS for my camera, this might just push me over the edge.

Looks like a goodun Jonathan, enjoy using it. Richard, for the money the 55-250 is a cracking little lens.

Nice job on getting the new 70-300mm lens Jonathan. Everything looks great. I like the way you shot the same scene at several different focal lengths which is very helpful. Nice bird shots!!. Good luck with the new lens.  Smiley

Thanks for the replies folks i have yet to try it out on anything astronomy related so far iam well pleased with it.

Tyler i would recommend this lens especially the price which i got in jessops winter sale for £97-00.
