Lovely images John. Perfect depth to get the viewer concentrating on the birds. Nice focus too. I have some bird feed out in the garden now so I might have a go at it myself...you have me out looking now.

You got me out looking John on New Year's Eve. All I got was these two. Taken through kitchen window with a 300mm lens and slightly cropped. Will keep at it....

You got the colours in there nicely Martin. Most of mine are shot through the kitchen window (for me this means having to boost the contrast quite hard) and cropped, 250mm isn't enough in most cases to get the birds.

Thanks very much John. It's amazing how small birds can appear on the frame even at 300mm, I wonder what kind of a long lens is needed for such distant and small subjects.

I've tried with the C80ED, 600mm but the focus is too slow unless the birds are asleep...
