Another NLC display arrived over Poltava on Jul.21 evening. As always, unexpectedly.

I wasn't observing on that night, but before going to sleep I had a look in the window and I couldn't believe my eyes - it was a NLC again. It's my first evening NLC observation!

They were low above the NW horizon, 1-2 type brightness, and type I, IIa structures. Visible from 22:10 to 22:30 EEST (possibly arrived at ~21:40)

This photo is a very low quality, because it was taken from an opened window, without a tripod, with a poor horizon and city light pollution.

But the situation looks very optimistic because the NLC activity remains high. Maybe they will arrive on the next night again.

Very well caught Roman, at least it shows that the NLC season is not finished yet.
We may get a good display here any night now!

Nice work catching that NLC display last night Roman. Nice IIa bands in that display. I was clouded out here last night so didn't see anything but as John said, we are overdue another big display any night now. Fingers crossed.

Your NLC page is really building now  Smiley
