Some Starlings






And a newbie to the garden



The ID is based on my bird book, I new it was a woodpecker of some sort, just wasn't sure which.

Those are tremendous photos John. The focus and depth of field are right on. Nature never ceases to amaze me. Look at the overlapping translucent white feathers on the woodpecker. Just beautiful!

Thanks Richard. I had to go back and look at the feathers on the Woodpecker a couple of times. I thought first off I'd got something wrong, then I realised it was the feathers  Grin.

A fanastic catch John. My eyes are drawn to the last image, the impression I get from this capture is that the bird would take flight in a matter of sec's and the image was taken just in time along with the quickening of the pulse!. Great focus, detail, and depth.  Smiley
