I took this photo the other night about 11 pm local time of the moon peeking through the trees over the Pacific. Richard

That's a nice shot Richard, and it looks like you've got a pretty good dark sky at your location!

You know, when I lived in Southern California, all I wished for was dark skies. Now that we're in Oregon with such dark skies, sometimes it's a little spooky out there. We have such a mild climate, the bears don't hybernate, and I've seen both bears and cougars within a half mile of my home in the daytime, so I know they are there at night too. One just has to be aware!

That's a lovely image Richard, though the thought of bears and cougars about would put me from climbing that hill of your's after dark unless I was prepared!

A very pleasing image Richard . Love the stars over those tall trees. I could imagine standing there taking that image and indeed feel wary. Looks quite scary when you are on your own!

Well caught Richard. You can almost sense the cold & crisp atmosphere there.

I'm sure I won't go far away from home at night if I had bears walking in the neighbourhood
