Lovely shot Paul, love the treeline. Here's another one of mine taken a bit later than the previous.

Notice how quickly we're losing Jupiter now! Yes, but Venus is getting quite prominent in the evening sky - until wiped out by cloud cover Got a nice clear slot this evening but the cloud slid in just as it was getting dark enough to be useful & it's now been raining steadily for 3 hours. (BBC forecast, light showers; Met Office, clear periods). Jupiter will be gone from my location by Dec 31st; I do have a slightly raised SW horizon.

here is a shot from two nights ago... It was -5F outside with -25 wind chills, I could barely stand it out there! I dont think you can see Jupiter though...

It was -5F outside A record shot if note the planets & the temperature together, I think -5 F = -20 C , am I right? Wow, that's cold enough. I don't expect such frost here in the nearest time. At the moment outside it is -6C (not warm too), and it is going to be not less than -10C next week.

I think so roman, I dont know much about celcius though... YOU GUYS NEED TO CHECK THIS OUT, a photographer from colorado was in newzealand this december, and took this photo from the top of a mountain of The moon and Venus (you can see the moon right in the middle of the milkyway!) http://www.widerange.org/photo.php?id=953&gallery=newzealand

To convert Fahrenheit to Celsius:
subtract 32, multiply by 5, divide by 9
To convert Celsius to Fahreheit:
multiply by 9, divide by 5, add 32
-20C is -4F. -40C is -40F (that's an easy one to convert!), 0C is 32F, 10C is 50F (another easy one to remember), 100C is 212F

Thanks for that link Tyler. Stunning image!. I like the smooth effect of the mountain top cloud during the exposure. Great planet images everyone. I seen a halo around Venus yesterday but didn't take any images. Has anyone seen a Venus pillar, or Venus dogs before?.

Nice one John, they sure have separated since Nov 31st!. Did you see Mercury by any chance?
Jonathan, I was at the lough shore this evening too, only on the other side. We were probably looking at one another while observing the planets lol. I didn't see Mercury either despite a perfect location. Did you see that amazing sunset?
