Before bedtime last night I got this shot of a nice corona round the moon. It didn't last very long as the clouds kept changing. I had to overexpose the moon to bring out the corona's colour. It's the first good one I've seen in quite a while.

That's a very nice Corona John. It looks different from the usual kind because of that cool colour. I think it's very ghostly looking. Very difficult to get images of these things.

I managed to catch this one last night.

Thanks Martin that's a nice one. I saw one the other night as well and it had a halo round at about one degree but it was gone within a few seconds and I didn't get an image. Funny how two are never alike!

Nice image, Martin.  Smiley The colours are so distinct that it looks like a circled rainbow  Wink

Now in October I have the kind of weather when I can often see widespreading Altostratus, so in the recent days I have seen a lunar corona almost every night, and even today at 06:30 (I woke up early to work).
But I didn't try to take some shots... I was too much busy and had only 6-7 hours to sleep  Sad
