A selection of the Warbirds from the Revival

Got the shutter speed to fast for this one... But I like it anyway.

Very nice work indeed John - in all cases you've caught the tops of the aircraft - much more interesting than the bottoms which most air show shots show!

Also the use of 1/125th shutter has allowed the props to show motion blur which again makes the shots stand out as exceptional rather than just good. I'll let you off that last one because it's good enough as it is Smiley

Paul.

Thanks very much Paul. I'd snapped something else just before that pair of spitfires flew in, and forgot to change my settings back.

I've discovered that due to some oddity in the export mechanism I used these are not as sharp as they should be, I think it was the resize caused all sorts of odd compression Artefacts. However, I've worked that out now, and here's a couple of them with this sorted.

Thanks very much Martin. The second set are the same images saved as jpg in a different way, and what the first set should have looked like. It took me some time to work it out...

Very nice photos John, now you've hit on my other passion (when I'm not doing astronomy) .  Warbirds

Here's some photos of a trip to RAF Hendon with some of the guys from the online virtual No.56 (Firebirds) RAF squadron which I belong to.

http://firebirds.2ndtaf.org.uk/newsite/gallery/1-Hendon

All photos by yours truly (expect the ones I'm in of course).  Canon 300D modified (but with X-Nite CC1 filter).

Thanks Dave, Glad you liked them. You've got some good photos of a varied selection of planes there. May have to take a visit myself one day
