Amazing day at the Co. Antrim coast on Saturday, sunny all day with clear blue sky, seen this nice omega sunset and for the second time this year I captured the elusive green flash, this was taken with the 400mm and cropped.

Lucky to have such a clear horizon Martin, something we rarely have here on the Oregon Coast. Spectacular green flash image, one of the best I've ever seen!

Thanks very much Richard, the north coast here is truly amazing, sometimes I wish I lived there, but I'm lucky because it's only a 30-45 min drive there.  Smiley

The sunset on its own is amazing and to capture a exceptional optical phenomena is a major bonus.

Well done Martin

Amazing,Martin. How long does the green flash last  or is it what it says on the tin....a flash ?..in which case you were very lucky that  it showed as you took the photo. I think Conor got lucky one year as I recall.

Thanks John, this is only the second time I have seen it, but on both occasions there was no flash, just a gradual build up of green on the outer edge of the disk which merges at the top, then it suddenly vanishes below the horizon, maybe 30 sec's or so at best to see it and shoot.

Yip Conor caught one too  Smiley

Ah.. I see. When Conor posted his - must be 3 years ago -I thought he must have just got lucky but 30 seconds is different - I'll be on the look out for that now then..
