Any tips on observing the Lyrid meteor shower this week best times etc, I suspect the Moon will not help so only the brightest meteors will show.

Thanks

Dark skies, be comfortable wherever you are - I prefer a sun lounger, plenty of warm clothes and blankets etc.  Chuck in a couple of beers and some nibbles and i'm good for as long as I stay warm.

I'm heading over to Filey on thursday, with much darker skies than I have at home, so will be keeping my eye open weather permitting...  Roll Eyes

Best time will be between dusk and moonrise so take advantage of that dark sky window. If you dont mind the moonlight though then you could be rewarded with higher rates and increased fireball activity later in the night, especially before dawn. Good luck.
