Grabbed these this evening. It was amazing as the Sun Pillar just popped on like a light as the Sun dropped behind the bank of clouds. Brightest one I've seen in awhile.

Yeah, there's ice in the upper atmosphere ... probably responsible for the "soupy" appearance of the sky behind the low level cloud banks too.

I like the first one even if the pillar wasn't there ,the reflection in the sea is lovely.
