Passing Front - Glos: Jan 13

Just caught sight of this advancing front passing over the house at 8.50am SE >NNW (Just now). If this isn't a front someone please shout up. It was losing structure and impact quite quickly so I took it from home ,no time to drive to a higher location.

Looks like a "classic" contrail smear to me ...

So it is.. Cheers,Brian. 15 minutes later the whole sky was moving SW > NE. with the Low. I googled contrail smear and saw similar photos...hadn't heard of that expression before and didn't know that such a large sheet could develop.

That's something I haven't seen in a long time - a blue sky I mean

. Nice image John, a sundog would have set it off completely.
