Hi Lads

I'm just wondering will you be starting up topic notifications for the site by email  I feel it would make the site much stronger over all and people will be kept up to date with what's going on. The layout of the site is great easy to navigate around. I think this forum board has the potential to be one of the best in the country because of the range of topics.

Carl.

Carl,

Thanks for that - I shall have a look at that when I'm at home - it's a great facility that I've used on IFAS before so I'm more than happy to enable it!

Clear skies,

Paul.

OK, I've done my bit, but it's not over!

Those who wish to receive notifications of new posts and replies have to do the following.....

1) Go to your "Profile"

2) Go to the  "Notifications & Email" item on the left menu.

3) Tick all the boxes, select whatever suits from the menu

4) Press "Save settings"

It seemed to take a while for notifications to start coming through but it does work!

Let me know how you all get on with this and tell me of any problems.

Clear skies,

Paul.

That is very decent of you Carl. Thanks for your help. The more people we can get the better. There's bound to be many out there who are interested in astronomy, weather and photography.  Smiley

Cheers.

Hi Paul,

Is this right.

SMF allows you to be notified of replies to posts, newly posted topics, and forum announcements. You can change those settings here, or oversee the topics and boards you are currently receiving notifications for.

Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email.   OK TICK

Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply.  Ok  TICK

Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.    OK   TICK

When sending notification of a reply to a topic, send the post in the email (but please don't reply to these emails.)  OK  TICK

For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me of:  Replies and moderation    Then I picked this one is that right

Then save

Not sure if i'm doing it right  or witch one do  I not TICK Undecided Embarrassed

Carl
