Beautiful skies here today, very sunny, warm, but breezy. Lots of intricate high cirrus clouds packed with ice  crystals have been on the go all day ahead of the big frontal system due to hit tonight. During the afternoon a fairly nice 22 degree Sun halo formed, fragmented but near complete, with a hint of a circumscribed halo. There was also two intense sundogs to the E and W of the Sun of the 22 degree variety with long tails. Here's a few images...

A pretty good indicator that rain is on its way!

excellent images martin. I love that first one.

While out and about today I noticed some nice build ups as the temperature rose but nothing really came from it.

Will be interesting to see tomorows weather.

Thanks guys for the comments. I will be hunting for moonbows in the nights ahead.

Now I see why there was no haloes from your location Steven, completely overcast with stratus. Nice structures under that sheet all the same!

Declan, I have no idea what that bird was.  Undecided
