I took these more for that long stretch of rolled (as opposed to roll) cloud than the sunset itself. If anyone can shed any lighten what it's about it would be appreciated

No matter what you were keying in on John, the photos are great. Great colors in the first and third ones. And thanks to you and Martin for collaborating (not sure if that's spelled correct) on the members thread to show our faces. I can just picture you up on that hilltop doing your thing, lol.

The first two are classy images John, love the structure to that chain of cu, it almost looks like a narrow shelf cloud with no cbs behind. Love the colours ranging from warm to cold. Well spotted!

Grin  You're right ,Rchard. Niow we can visualise each other -much better.

Thanks for comments both.

I've just googled it in simple descriptive terms to see if there were are similar photos and more importantly an explanation and came across this wiki. page but it;'s worth looking at the photos with it, especially the roll cloud in Uruguay (that must be the only word with 3 U's in it)  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcus_cloud .

I checked shelf cloud too,Martin and it does look like narrow shelf cloud.-more than look-a-like roll cloud..Must have something to do with temps.  and wind t a particular altitude.

Superb stuff John, I have had little time to get out this month. Like the cloud front, almost appears level with you.
