I took these this afternoon on a local hill. No snow here (that's coming at 0500 tomorrow- but for now  just heavy frost and in Gloucestershire yesterday it was the coldest  daytime temperature for 100 years at  -7C.  The let down was a grey sky, some sun would have made a lot of difference, it started to break through at about 3.45 . I've posted a couple in both B&W and colour. It took me 20  minutes to get up the hill non-stop. I forgot about the time and I just happened to check my watch at 4.15,they close the car park gates at 4.30 at the bottom of the hill-it's a nature reserve. I packed the camera gear away and legged it back down in 8 minutes. It's quite steep too Grin

A great set of photos John, it really looks cold!! That must have been quite a hike up the hill only to have to hurry back down again. Is that what they call a Hoar Frost, caused by fog below freezing, since we don't get much frost here. I've got a metric converter saved in my favorites for celsius, kilometers and meters, it comes in handy for me, lol.

I forgot this time,Richard . re. the Celcius. -7 =19.4F as you'll know with that converter but in Scotland they're predicting -4F for tonight (Monday night) Yes, that's hoar frost called rime too.
