Hi Lads,
Just got out for the first time, the clouds only parted at around 12am, but I got as much as I could for H-alpha. IC 5070 is very much a work in progress, and I hope to have the finished narrowband image a.s.a.p. weather permitting.
The Pelican Nebula in H-alpha. 6th September 2008. Total of 2.5 hours (15x 10min) of data taken through a Williams ZS 80EDII, with a .8 focal reducer piggybacked on a CGE 11. Self guided with the SBIG ST8-XME. Processing, Images Plus, Maxim, CS2.

Thanks Gary, that is one superb image! BTW, I see you brought out the Deer's Head, something I have read about but rarely seen. See how many of the rest can see it

I love it to Gary. I had it has my wallpaper for time so I could look at in the dark. It's the kind of image which reveals even more detail the longer one looks at it. The Deer is awesome!. Fantastic photography. Thanks for sharing.

That's magnificent Gary - sometimes monochrome enables you to see detail that gets lost in colour images - I also quite like the flare effect on the brightest stars, the old film images from the likes of the 200" Mt Palomar reflector used to have this type of flair as I remember!
Thanks for sharing.
Paul.
