After a rather rainy and windy night we awoke to dramatic convective skies which aren't all that common to the Pacific Northwest. I decided to wait to go down to the beach hoping things would be more photographic at sunset, but of course it was raining and I had to sit in the car for about 45 minutes for the rain to stop. Things never panned out as I had hoped but it wasn't a complete loss.

That all sounds so familiar sitting in the car and waiting for the rain to stop, lovely images Richard I do like the sky detail and silhouette of the coastline in image 2 it portrays the weather conditions really well.

Thanks

Anthony

Bit of a surprise,,Richard-we're used to tranquil scenes at sunset and beautiful panoramas. Good to see convection  but what a shame about the rain..Nice idea to get the reflection in the 'puddle and there's a bit on the shoreline too, pity about that dark cloud left side,it's hiding what looks like pretty good crepuscular rays at sunset but I still like the shot.

These are fantastic Richard! - 2nd image is absolutely stunning, that looks like quite a strong cell with the vertical hard-shaped back edge, check out the small mammatus on it too - I love that one. Great to see convection visiting your shores again.  Smiley

I know what you mean about waiting under the rain, I seem to be spending my life doing that this year lol

Great convective images Richard, the sunlit convection looks brilliant behind the rocky coastline in the third and the reflection in four is a nice touch. As Martin noted thats an impressive looking cell in no.2-thanks for these  Smiley
