Got a once in a lifetime shot the other night, caught a transformer blowing up on camera after 5 cloud to ground strikes hit (all in my frame) All the strikes were closer than a mile to me, the middle bolt was less than a half mile! more info and photos here... http://tonightssky.org/accounts/090110.html

Those are some incredible shots you have there Tyler. Makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Great set of photos on your site. Sounds like you had quite an evening. What were your average exposure times on those? Good job!!

Hey Tyler, that's an incredible image!, absolutely picture perfect and so rare to get the transformer explosion at the same time, thank goodness you always have your camera with you for major surprises like this, I bet you had a great smile on your face when the image popped up on your LCD screen  Smiley, loved the report and all the other images too, the 2nd shot is stunning as well, those are images to be extremely proud of. Congrats on getting it published and I hope you make loads of images sales from it  Smiley

Wow - amazing shot. Never seen a lightning strike like that before. I'd love a chance to try photographing something as extreme.

The photo is fantastic in itself but what an experience for you, too.
