Spent both Sat and Sun at the Portrush International Airshow this year, the first day with my family and the second with Conor. The show itself was not good at all this year due to a poor line up and lack of funding, there would have been no show at all if the local businesses hadn't chipped in. Sky was dark and heavy with low cloud on both days so photo opps were very poor. Despite all this I still had a fun time on both days. I borrowed Conor's Sigma 70-300mm lens for the aircraft shots, on day two I used the kit lens for the WWII/Battle of Britain displays on the ground. Highlights were the Red Arrows and Eurofighter.

You did well, Martin, light plays havoc doesn't it especially when you need a high shutter speed. We have an International air show here  at RAF  Fairford but I've never seen WW2 uniforms.

My wife is visiting her friend in France (mid-north) soon and her friend/husband  have another English couple as neighbours and the lady contacted the Red Arrows, who are doing a display not too far away and asked if they would mind flying over their hamlet- she got a reply..'Yes,weather permitting' Lol.

Thanks for the comments John and Danny, the light this year was a nightmare and not good at all for photography but I did the best I could and still had a fun time anyway, new things were learned to apply in the future  Smiley
