Here's a few images taken from a storm chase to Ardboe at the Abbey Cross area on the W side of Lough Neagh on Aug 18th. First image shows a large cell over Maghera at mid day, the other images show a storm moving through the Ardboe area with several very large anvils. This was a chase with Declan O'Doherty in which we heard 14 rumbles of thunder from several different cells and had one strong spin-up under an updraught base which tried to produce a funnel - but no joy this time. A fun day out.

WOW! Some dramatic images Martin - well done.

Now why can't I be treated to 'cloudscapes' like that? Time to move, methinks.  Angry

Thanks very much Andy, keep watching and you will be treated for certain. Some in the UK got treated to an F1 tornado a few days ago  Smiley

Class shots Martin, no.1 is my fav, nice contrast within the clouds and between the freshly cut fields and the sky.  Smiley

Thanks for the comments John and Paul - looks like it's going to be a long wait for another convective day with all this high pressure over us, at least on the positive side we are getting clear skies this time so that's a good thing.
