While imaging the new sunspot ar 1087 at lunchtime this beautie of a sun halo appeared, best I've seen in a while,so I couldn't resist an image. As the recent winds had blown down my usual sun blocker I had to find another!

Very good,John.
I couldn't help but look hard at the sun blocker and can see a few images other than what it is - you holding a coin. It's all about perception.

Very nice full halo image there John - those dust caps sure come in handy for blocking the sun

Ah- I said lens cap then scrolled down to see Martin's post but what I first saw was a seal balancing a ball on it's nose, then I looked a bit longer putting that image out of my mind and saw a sort of view from the ground looking up at an alien (large head ) who was leaning over looking down.
