Hearing about two possible faint NLC sightings from the ROI last night (23/24th) in the NW, if this was the case then there could be further displays tonight.

Hi Mark, there was another report last night but I saw the images and can confirm that they are moonlit cirrus clouds - no NLCs, so it was mistaken identity. I did an all night watch last night, used 10x50 binos to study the twilight arch but definitely no NLCs on display, however I suspect the first sights are upon us any night now

I am back to Poltava now and the last days of May are the probable beginning of the season here too. However I'm not sure there will be much of NLC activity until mid-June (and I won't be able to monitor each night during next 3 weeks), though I will be ocassionally looking at the twilight zone.

Eyes peeled all of you!
NLC forum had the first potential sighting from Scotland in the early hours this morning. No pics or nything so atm it's still unconfirmed, however it is from a seasoned observer - time to up the DEFCON level!

Interesting! - I did an all night NLC watch last night with a friend and no NLCs were visible in a crystal clear sky until 03.20 or so.

Good clear section along the horizon last night - negative NLC observation. They are late this year . Hopefully, when they do appear any night now, they will have good structure since it's almost June.

I observed from Peebles, southern scotland, last night till about midnight from sunset, lovely clear skies but nothing but lit cirrusy clouds...
