Hi all,

I had a chance to get out imaging for first time in a long time. So I got to test the AP1200 mount properly and here is the result of 60 x 2min exposures unguided with C14@3910mm focal length binning was 2x2 camera was Atik 4meg @-20deg.
This was my first time imaging at such a high focal length getting the focus right was a challenge the image was processed in images plus and Photoshop CS3 Darks was  30 x 2mins flats was 35000adu

Superb imaging Carl! Controlling a scope for long exposures at 4 metres focal length isn't easy ...

Have you compared the results of using a focal reducer with binning? I'm guessing the results would be rather similar but just wondered if you'd tried the experiment.

Another cracker from you Carl - top quality image with amazing detail and structure within the spiral arms. A blow up of that would look great on any Observatory wall!.  Smiley

Keep them coming...
