Wexford - where I was born and grew up. I haven't been back in a while but got down there over the weekend. Of course I took my camera. The North slobs "Wildfowl Reserve" was a fovourite haunt of mine as a kid, I used to walk out from town along the beach and get to view all the visiting geese and wildfowl thro' a crappy old pair of 7x50 binos. Things have changed, one can no longer wander at will and viewing is very stricly limited to a few hides. Still the sight of hundreds of Brent geese launched into the air simultaneously is awe inspiring. Got a few shots of this but none that do justice. I sat for a while outside the visitor centre and got a few shots of smaller birds:
Rook:

Lapwing:

Robin:

Chaffinch:

Next day I went to Hook Head, a great spot for Geologists and Fossil hunters:

On Fiday I tried a poletrail shot - 124 x 30 sec with a nifty 50:

Whew.... thats me done...

Excellent set John.. The rook is well exposed and has great action. The lapwing looks darn tricky. Love the Robin. The chaffy is very good. The BT is showing as not available... I've no clue what kind of birds they are in the next one Grin but it doesn't look easy. Excellent capture on the water. And a wonderful star trail to finish.

Cheers John.
The lapwing was miles away so its a very tight crop and not too sharp. I'm afraid Flickr seems to be having a problem with the Blue Tit so I have removed it (maybe its the word tit?) Roll Eyes

Fantastic set of images John. As usual, the birds are great, the Robin and Chaffinch really excellent in detail and color, the coastal scenes very rustic in nature, and the nifty fifty did a great job on the circumpolar image. Thanks!
