Excellent photographic report Paul! Can't seem to load the last one but it's probably on my end. Good job.

Great images, I hope you put the trolley back Hoar frost in sunlight is very photogenic, doesn't usually last long though. couldnt believe it when I saw the river was froze over. In Jan/Feb 1963 the River Derwent at Derby (which is about half the size of the lower Bann at Coleraine) was frozen completely solid - right down to the bed, and it's 8 to 10 feet deep.

Cheers everyone. was frozen completely solid - right down to the bed, and it's 8 to 10 feet deep. Thats mad and im just thinking-what about the poor fish in those conditions. Even in this prolonged cold spell which is unusual for this country all animals and birds must be finding it really tough.

I really feel sorry for the animals too, there's a Donkey and Horse out our road which stand in it 24 hrs a day every day (and night) in an open field. There is nothing to eat and they looked very sorry and miserable. Last night the Donkey was calling as if to say he couldn't stick it anymore, he sounded in pain, I had to warm him up by rubbing his ears which were covered in thick ice and snow...poor thing!
