A few images showing convection and rapidly growing updraft towers above Omagh on 21st july 2009.  Pic 1 and 2 are taken one minute apart and you can see the growth over that short period.

Check this one out, snapped on mobile phone while at work-mad looking tower! (6th July)

Thanks for posting these Paul. I love them!, really vigorous updraught towers there, I can imagine them bubbling up rapidly in the afternoon heat.  2nd image is great and so is the 2nd last. The last image itself is a weird one with that updraught mushroom standing out proudly from the cu. Great stuff! - there must have been storms on that day. I can't wait to see stuff like that again next Summer.  Smiley

* camera quality is great for a mobile.

Thanks for your comments there Padraig and Martin, i have to admit i have edited the first two pics slightly to pull out some detail because they were a bit washed out looking to start with. Yeah im really happy with that wee mobile phone image its a strange one that cloud.

Godo photos, Paul, strong updraughts there. As you've mentioned it, even a bit more darkening to just the clouds  in the first  two would have been even better - infact it looks like the ideal scenario for a polariser lens.
