I drove about 8 miles up the coast last evening to a spot I hadn't been to in several years, Otter Point. It overlooks the Rogue River Reef about two miles offshore. An approraching storm front made for some interesting images.

Lovely images Richard, I love the first one best..great colours and clouds. Thanks very much for sharing these because in some ways it makes up for not being in your beautiful part of the world. Your images keep us in touch with the wonderful scenes there. Cheers  Smiley

That first one is really well defined as the front comes across you .I really like the last one.

Otter Point ?? ...maybe you could find out when the otters are there but you'd need a big lens, I guess.

Oh dear, you can forget that,Richard. http://www.audubonportland.org/issues/ocean/otters

Superb shots Richard. You've caught the storm front beautifully in that first shot and I love the colours in the latter two - especially the middle one. Well done.

Thanks for the comments everyone. It's ironic John how little one sometimes knows about their own backyard. Everyone knows that area as Otter Point and it's actually an unofficial State Park. I've never really thought about there being no otters. We have thousands of sea lions up and down our coast, the scorn of the salmon fishermen. I would expect to see the otters in the estuaries and along the river banks, but don't recall ever seeing any. Now I know why! Thanks for the info.
