I took this shot last Friday on the way back from the shop. It was about 9 and the sun was just about gone. Old man heron was waiting by the bank begging to have a picture taken. There was almost no light so I had to use the flash, of course that meant I only got one shot before he took off. The red in the water is the flash reflecting off debris etc. not noise. This is one of the few times I relied on the fully automatic settings of the camera. Its not very sharp but thats to be expected.

Camera: Canon EOS 500D
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 133 mm
ISO Speed: 400

That's a very unusual image being taken with flash. Can't recall seeing one like this. Beautiful! Question, did he bolt when the flash went off?
