Lovely Macros John.
Why is it that the spider you want to photograph on a web always presents belly up. I spent ages once poking and blowing the web trying to get him to come around to the camera side?

Nice shot,John. You'll have loads of opportunities to photograph spiders - there's a glut of them because there's a glut of crane flies- insects have done well this year. The most common it seems is the ;'Garden Cross' spider-it has stripes.  We have a spider outside the conservatory door and he must have spent ages making the web - it's massive so we're  careful not to break it.  There's a survey of spiders on Buglife. They want people to count the spiders and send in their results by October 12th.

Thanks John. There do seem to be a lot of spiders around at the moment. And there's some amazing webs. I just missed grabbing a shot of one this morning. By the time I'd got the camera the light had moved and I couldn't see it in the same way... hopefully tomorrow morning.
