Had a great day visually and also in terms of imaging today. It makes a pleasant change! Here's a selection of todays captures:- Normally i'd have just posted one of these, but prom wise there's alot going on in both. SM40 @f10 DMK31 Here's a close up of one of the many proms SM40 @f30 DMK31 A bit of blue... CaK PST @f10 DMK31 I quite like these 'inverted' shots, so thought I would give them a go seeing as the sun is so hairy today! SM40 @f16 DMK31 SM40 @f10 DMK31 Hope you like them! I'm off to the pub now! Mark

Poor conditions today, loads of drifting stratocumulus & severe boiling - had to lower the magnification a bit to get an image at all. Have not had time to process properly but here are semi-closeups of the two main proms. 2009 Sep 13, 1134 UT (both images), Solarscope SV60, 2x barlow, IS DMK41.

I knew that would get you guys going! Those are great images both, it was very clear here Brian with not much in the way of cloud and structure could be seen quite easily in the two big proms. Quite a lot of detail on the disk as well. Mark, I love those inverted shots seems to bring out more structure in those proms, and unusual looking. Well done both on the great shots!
Thanks Richard, but mine was a poor effort really, but I knew these guys would deliver the goods!

Sep 14th: Disc remains quiet but the proms are still good. Quick & dirty processes from this morning; transparency good, seeing poor to bad (sharp but with considerable "swimming pool" unsteadiness). All images Solarscope SV60, x4 barlow (f/32), DMK41 camera. SW limb, 1040 UT: SE limb, 1042 UT: NW limb, 1043 UT: Cloud which invaded around 4am went to lunch for a couple of hours but now appears to be regrouping for the afternoon.

I can only look and admire your photographic skills. I can't comment, I don't have the knowledge but I do enjoy looking at the images in this forum.

Somemore nice shots there Brian. I'll be quiet on the imaging front for a while now - my laptop went into the menders today for a new screen, they reckon it'll be ready by the weeks end but i'm not holding my breath. As soon as its home though i'll be back in business
