Thanks very much Steven. I knelt down low for that shot. Early in the morning the water was above my head in that spot according to the fishermen.

Nice turbulent clouds on #2,3,4 shots. I'm not much impressed with the flood because I saw before a lot of video on TV of a major flood in W Ukraine (in late July). However the last flood in Poltava that I remember was in March-April 2006, when a big amount of snow&ice has melt and water level in Vorskla river rised for 2-3 meters.

At the time, that was big for our river but on the 16th it went crazy and burst its banks, it was the worst anyone can remember from here. See the flood thread I have up showing a few images and a video clip.
